( klaus is quiet for a terrible moment too long. thinking of hope — remembering her... that is what he does every day, with every breath and beat of his heart. but to speak of her... to hear her name; that has been a more novel blessing and torment these past few months.

his eyes slip closed. he thinks of his daughter, managing and persevering, suffering and surviving these trials without him. alone, perhaps, by choice. but not truly alone. josette has helped save her more than once, at great peril and undeniable sacrifice.

there are many things he'd like to say. for now, he settles for what weighs on him the most. what she said, in the maze. ) She erased herself.

It's not ... as simple as that.

[Because nothing in their world is ever that simple.]

There's thing called Malivore. It started out as a golem that a witch, a vampire and a werewolf made to help handle other supernatural creatures like dragons or dryads. The golem would consume them, and then the world would forget they ever existed. Along the way, things started to get out of control, and the golem was turned into a pit.

[And it was fine, until some humans got a hold of it. But that's not important.]

This guy, Ryan Clarke, he was trying to let him out of the pit, and it was going to possess our friend, Landon. And Hope figured out that she was the loophole. Vampire, witch and werewolf all rolled into one.

She jumped in. ( the words are merely a confirmation of what he already has deduced; what she's already said in so many words. his beautiful, selfless daughter desperate to hold onto what and who she loves at any cost. equally willing to sacrifice and condemn herself. so much like her mother, wanting to fight. like him. in that moment he's so angry and so proud that the two emotions cannot win against each other. what's left is a grief-filled pit.

I mean, the erasing herself worked, but Malivore didn't go away. She thinks it's because her vampire side wasn't fully active yet. Anyway, she got out and came back and just lied to our faces for a while instead of just telling us the truth, but when I blasted Lizzie with that black magic to save her, she suddenly remembered Hope again.

[Granted, Lizzie didn't tell her because Hope didn't want her to, but that isn't the point of the story. The point is, Josie figured out how to fix it.]

I got your sister to help me for the bigger spell, and fixed her memories in New Orleans before I went home to fix everyone else.
