[She takes off her shoes, giving her an opportunity to ground a bit more into the floor. And not get any mess on her shoes. She makes her way closer.]

Do you want to start with something simple?

Yeah, that's the best way, right?

[Setsuna watches Josie remove her shoes, then removes his own, just for extra comfort.]

What are you thinking of when you say simple?

No magic.

[So no fire. They can work their way up.]

Maybe something sharp instead?

[He swallows when she says that, part of him tensing at the thought, but there's another side that perks up and offers suggestions.]

Usually the rooms back at Lilith's club have toys and knives in the drawers. This place might be the same?

But yeah. We can start there.

Ooh.

[She pauses and goes to shuffle through the drawers until she finds something that seems interesting. The toys here seem to be less on the fun side and more on the painful ones, but eventually she finds a dagger-esque piece and she pulls it out for Setsuna's approval.]

Good?

[He nods his head.] It looks sharp and clean.

Good.

[She nods as she makes her way closer, eyeing potential options to start. Moving to the side of the bed, she reaches for one of his arms.]

Ready?

[And once Setsuna confirm as much, she'll firmly, cleanly, draws a red line across the meat of his arm with the blade of the knife.]

Yes. [He makes sure to verbally respond, be clear.]

[His breath sucks in a little as he feels the blade draw down, and the familiar sting soon follow, but unlike usual, there's a warmth that seeps into his skin. Setsuna bites his bottom lip.]

That feels different.

Yeah?

[Interesting. She weighs her options for a moment, before moving up a bit and drawing another line.]

Different how?

[She's a curious girl, she can't help it. She can also tell that there's something different about him too. That he has a power all his own, but she doesn't know how to ask about that yet.]

[Setsuna's watches a light line of blood bead up from his arm. His arm does tense, for a moment, but he still watches.]

It, I don't know. Usually I just hate pain. But this.... [He shrugs a little.] Feels kinda good.

Huh.

[That is interesting. And would explain some of the reactions they were seeing in the other torturees. She eyes the cuts for a moment before pressing down with her thumb and twisting into one of the cuts, prying it open more to see how he reacts. The blood slips against her thumb as the metallic scent fills the air.]

How about that?

[Setsuna's eyes widen, and his mouth opens soundlessly, at first. There's a little cry that finally follows with a hitched breath on its heels. His arm does tense and he almost pulls away, but just as the blood covers her thumb, his entire body seems to ease.]

It hurts, but there's a warm, tingly feeling right after.

{He looks at Josie, confused.] Do it again.

Huh.

[But far be it from her to deny the request. She repeats the gesture, pushing against a different part of the slice and watching her reaction.]

Was it like this before? Or is this new?

[The second time gets a cry from him, but his eyes close in pleasure toward the end of it.]

[He shakes his head, eyes half-lidded.] No. This is definitely new.

Okay.

[She tips her head to the side as she pulls her hands back.]

Ready to kick things up a notch?

[His eyes widen a little to those words, but Setsuna nods his head, firmly.]

Yeah. What do you have in mind? The fire? [He doesn't know if he's more horrified by the fact he's eager to try, or that his mouth is making the suggestion before she does.]

Sure.

[She's willing to follow his lead She moves one of her hands, holding up a finger and whispering a soft:]

Incendia.

[The tip of her finger lights like a match, and she holds it still to gauge his reaction.]

We'll start small.

[His eyes nearly light up, more than just the reflection of the fire in them, when he sees the fire dance on her finger.]

That's pretty cool!

[Because magic is pretty cool. She has no idea why her boring half is always so scared of it.]

Do you have a preference for where? Like you don't have an S.O. that's going to be worried if you come back with burns or anything?

Uh, yes in that my husband will likely get worried, but no in a preference. [Setsuna gives it a second. His healing isn't always up to par in this place, he's had bruises for far longer than he wants, sometimes, but today....]

We don't have to worry, though. [He points to one of the first cuts that is oh-so-slowly already starting to heal.] It shouldn't be a problem.

[She tips her head as she notices the healing cuts.]

Fast healing. Nice.

[But she will shift to the other arm, just because beating up all on one is probably not the best idea anyway. She then lifts his arm, and brings the flame in closer, holding it enough for the skin to start to blister before drawing a line up his forearm.]

[That gets a light cry out of him, and for a second he almost jerks his arm back, but then Setsuna's eyes close and his voice softens, ending the cry in more of a moan.]

It still kinda hurts, but the heat feels good after a couple of seconds. [Part of him knows that's not normal for him, that maybe he should stop, before he starts asking for more, but he doesn't want to stop this.]

I wonder if it's in the air.

[Because this wasn't a thing prior to arriving in Mammon's lands. She would have noticed. She's certainly been in plenty of pain. She keeps drawing lines gently with the flame, before tipping her head to the side.]

So, at the risk of being blunt, what are you?

[Yes, because that's the way to do it.]

[His head rolls back a little, eyes half-lidded. His hand even trembles a little, but he doesn't pull back, doesn't ask her to stop, or even use the safe word.]

[Blunt is the only way Setsuna understands things, and how he would do it, so respect. His wings fluff up to the question.]

Uh. Well, I like to think I'm human. But, uh, I'm sort of an angel.

Never met an angel before.

[But it makes sense, based on the power that she can feel rolling off him.]

So those wings aren't just for show?
