[Setsuna licks his lips to that. At least with fire he can control and push it back if it's too much for him, unlike electricity. A part of him remains apprehensive, but there's another part of him that watches the candle, the bright orange and yellow flame dance.]
[Setsuna does care, and doesn't like the feeling of exposure. Plus, some random alleyway doesn't look very comfortable, either.]
Why don't we get a room? [Not either of their official rooms in the castle, just some random room in an inn. Something more private, more comfortable, and less chance of running into anyone he knows. Typically, he would ask Teddy for permission before doing anything, but this is...different. He doesn't want to admit he sought this out.]
[And with that, off they will go to find a room at the inn. It's easy enough, and once they're all settled, she closes the door behind them and tips her head to the side as she considers casually.]
Should we have a safe word?
[If they go too far, or he wants to stop? That's the courteous thing to do.]
[There's a moment Setsuna simply looks around the room, little details standing out more than usual. He runs a hand over the bed sheets. Cool and soft, a perfect contrast to why they're there. Then she asks her question.]
[Setsuna stares at Josie for a moment.]
What's a safe word?
[Considering all he's been put through, going too far, or anyone listening to his wants is a very foreign concept, but he is currently learning about that aspect.]
[This was designed to be a trial experience. Josie isn't going to just keep going of Setsuna wants to stop.]
A safe word is a word both people agree to say when you want to stop. Like ... "pineapple" or "cactus" or something that doesn't fit with whatever they're doing. So if you're not having fun anymore, you say the safe word and I stop.
[Because this isn't real torture. Not by Hell standards anyway.]
[Of course he does. Josie may be a little sadistic at the moment, but she doesn't have any beef with Setsuna. This is about him more than it is about her.]
[Outside of rare events, even his own selfish behavior centered around another person - something being about him is pretty foreign. He grins.]
Yeah, ready.
[And not tentative and a little scared, like earlier, actively excited.] Is it okay if I sit on the bed? Just seems more comfortable than trying to stand.
[He has to sit on the corner, so his wings aren't uncomfortably bent by the bed, overflowing around him, to either side.]
[She pauses and goes to shuffle through the drawers until she finds something that seems interesting. The toys here seem to be less on the fun side and more on the painful ones, but eventually she finds a dagger-esque piece and she pulls it out for Setsuna's approval.]
Yes. [He makes sure to verbally respond, be clear.]
[His breath sucks in a little as he feels the blade draw down, and the familiar sting soon follow, but unlike usual, there's a warmth that seeps into his skin. Setsuna bites his bottom lip.]
[Interesting. She weighs her options for a moment, before moving up a bit and drawing another line.]
Different how?
[She's a curious girl, she can't help it. She can also tell that there's something different about him too. That he has a power all his own, but she doesn't know how to ask about that yet.]
[That is interesting. And would explain some of the reactions they were seeing in the other torturees. She eyes the cuts for a moment before pressing down with her thumb and twisting into one of the cuts, prying it open more to see how he reacts. The blood slips against her thumb as the metallic scent fills the air.]
[Setsuna's eyes widen, and his mouth opens soundlessly, at first. There's a little cry that finally follows with a hitched breath on its heels. His arm does tense and he almost pulls away, but just as the blood covers her thumb, his entire body seems to ease.]
It hurts, but there's a warm, tingly feeling right after.
[His eyes widen a little to those words, but Setsuna nods his head, firmly.]
Yeah. What do you have in mind? The fire? [He doesn't know if he's more horrified by the fact he's eager to try, or that his mouth is making the suggestion before she does.]
no subject
Okay. We can try it. I want to try it.

[She doesn't particularly care, though she probably shouldn't be torturing someone in public.]

Let's do rice-cakes. If I say rice-cakes, you have to stop.
no subject
Rice-cakes. Got it.
[She will pay attention.]
You ready?
no subject
Yeah, ready.

[She takes off her shoes, giving her an opportunity to ground a bit more into the floor. And not get any mess on her shoes. She makes her way closer.]
Do you want to start with something simple?
no subject
[Setsuna watches Josie remove her shoes, then removes his own, just for extra comfort.]
What are you thinking of when you say simple?
no subject
[So no fire. They can work their way up.]
Maybe something sharp instead?
no subject
Usually the rooms back at Lilith's club have toys and knives in the drawers. This place might be the same?
But yeah. We can start there.

[She pauses and goes to shuffle through the drawers until she finds something that seems interesting. The toys here seem to be less on the fun side and more on the painful ones, but eventually she finds a dagger-esque piece and she pulls it out for Setsuna's approval.]
Good?
no subject
Good.
no subject
Ready?
[And once Setsuna confirm as much, she'll firmly, cleanly, draws a red line across the meat of his arm with the blade of the knife.]

It, I don't know. Usually I just hate pain. But this.... [He shrugs a little.] Feels kinda good.

How about that?
no subject
It hurts, but there's a warm, tingly feeling right after.
{He looks at Josie, confused.] Do it again.
no subject
[But far be it from her to deny the request. She repeats the gesture, pushing against a different part of the slice and watching her reaction.]
Was it like this before? Or is this new?
no subject
[He shakes his head, eyes half-lidded.] No. This is definitely new.
no subject
[She tips her head to the side as she pulls her hands back.]
Ready to kick things up a notch?
no subject
Yeah. What do you have in mind? The fire? [He doesn't know if he's more horrified by the fact he's eager to try, or that his mouth is making the suggestion before she does.]
